Our team presented the DiGeWohl project at the 2026 AI Forum hosted by Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

This year marked the third edition of the AI Forum, which brought together AI enthusiasts from the worlds of research and industry in Hanover—to exchange ideas, network, and gain exciting insights into the latest developments in artificial intelligence.

In addition to the overarching question of how AI can be meaningfully applied in research and teaching, a key focus this year was on the life cycle of AI agents—a topic that is also highly relevant to our project. Various presentations addressed, among other things, how AI agents think, plan, and act in autonomous loops, and what constraints, conditioning, and validation they require in the process. Another focus was on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)—that is, the question of how to endow AI systems with a reliable “memory,” with an eye toward fundamentals such as chunking, ranking, and the typical pitfalls encountered in practice. In addition, the conference demonstrated how such concepts can be translated into functioning agent-based systems and provided insights into AI services for sensitive and critical infrastructure.

Topics related to AI agents and RAG, in particular, are directly linked to our own work—such as the question of how generative AI can be meaningfully and responsibly integrated with mobile robotics.

A heartfelt thank you to Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts for the successful event and the inspiring exchange!
